Bobcat Buddies
Butler Elementary has created a new mentorship program called Bobcat Buddies. This program is a bi-weekly program where students from 5th and 6th grade get partnered with 1st and 2nd graders. During these meetings students discuss social-emotional skills, practice reading fluency, and work on their math skills. Our Bobcat Buddies have meet over 20 times this school year and continue to support each other throughout the school day.
For our last Bobcat Buddy meeting students celebrated their friendship through pizza , which is of course all of our students favorite food. Pizza was provided by Dr. Shane Conwell where he met with our Bobcat Buddies and got to see the positive effects the program has had on Butler Elementary. We look forward to continuing this mentorship at Butler Elementary.
